Electrical and Instrumentation specialist needed for a client in Darlington South Carolina. This individual will oversee all aspects of instrument, controls, electrical, analytical, and IT-related equipment at our Air Separation Unit facility.
- High School Diploma or GED plus 5-7 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician, Electrical Engineer, or Control System Specialist, ideally within a continuous process plant or the industrial gas industry.
- Extensive experience with both mechanical and electrical instrumentation. Ability to lead complex engineering projects with minimal supervision, demonstrating a strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation principles in practical settings.
- Ability to oversee and manage plant automation and control projects, troubleshoot complex control and electrical issues, and provide guidance on mechanical system maintenance.
- Proficient in implementing and continuously reviewing maintenance programs and asset management tools to ensure plant operational efficiency.
- In-depth, hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of cryogenic air separation plants and associated equipment and technologies, with a strong understanding of the processes involved.
- Familiarity with the various software systems commonly used in a UIG air separation plant, including but not limited to MS Office Suite, Plant PAX, FactoryTalk, and other SCADA and control systems used in the industry.

responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance, upkeep, and diagnostics of MV/LV electrical systems Ensure the electrical switchgear operates efficiently and meets safety standards.
- Lead lifecycle management of plant control systems, including new and upgraded HMI and control systems.
- Oversee and troubleshoot HMI/PLC and SCADA systems to ensure they are functioning properly and integrating smoothly with plant operations.
- Assist project teams with SFAT (Site Factory Acceptance Testing) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) as required.
- Conduct testing and calibration for key process instruments including analyzers, flow totalizers, transmitters, motor protection relays, and associated controls.
- Ensure precise data acquisition for key process parameters related to production rates, product quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage instrumentation and equipment that measure production rates, product quality parameters, on-stream performance, and environmental KPIs.
- Work in close collaboration with quality and regulatory compliance teams to ensure adherence to all applicable standards.
- Act as a key team member for the Quality Control Unit (QCU).
- Provide expert support to other departments and external vendors as needed.
- Assist commissioning activities for new and upgraded facilities.
- Support the startup processes for instrumentation, electrical, and control systems in new and upgraded installations.
