Join a mission-driven team working on distributed energy and renewable projects. Client seeking a seasoned Interconnection Engineer to lead utility applications, manage external engineering partners, and move projects through the interconnection process efficiently. Position can be based in Chicago, Austin, or Vahalla NY.

responsibilities:
- Lead and review utility interconnection applications
- Manage application submissions via portals and email
- Direct third-party engineering firms and review drawings
- Evaluate and challenge utility interconnection studies
- Support cost modeling and timeline development
- Coordinate and participate in external utility review calls
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer
- Ensure compliance with interconnection agreements and codes
- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (required)
- PE license (desired)
- 8+ years in utility distribution engineering
- 3+ years reviewing one-line and three-line electrical drawings
- 2+ years reviewing interconnection study reports
- Experience with SKM, ETAP, PSSE/PSCAD or similar
- Familiarity with portals like PowerClerk or Connect the Grid
- Proven communication, project coordination, and tracking skills
