Growing manufacturer in Sarasota is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to add to its team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of 3D CAD design experience, Solidworks preferred. Electro-mechanical product/system design, development and testing experience required. This is a fully onsite position with excellent benefits, corporate culture and work/life balance!

responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems including definition, prototyping, testing, debugging, qualification, and production release.
- Manage projects from conception to production, ensuring they meet customer expectations
- Collaborate across multiple departments to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
- Develop and test prototypes to ensure performance and functionality
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across multiple departments to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
- Review and approve engineering drawings with critical dimensions, performance specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards such as FDA, CE, UL, FCC
- Plan and execute test plans
- B.S. in Engineering or similar
- At least 5 years of product/system engineering, design and testing
- Proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD design
- Proficiency in Design for Test (DFT), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), DFMEA/PFMEA, FEA, GD&T, and root cause investigations.
- Knowledge of design control and validation processes.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation systems like PDM and validation processes
- Willingness to mentor junior engineers
