An Instrumentation Field Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Portland, TX area. An Instrumentation Field Engineer supports construction teams by overseeing and resolving technical instrumentation issues, coordinating materials and schedules, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and managing quality and documentation processes in large industrial projects.

responsibilities:
- Inspect installations and initiate related documentation.
- Assist field supervision with workforce, equipment, and materials planning.
- Prepare short- and long-term schedules; coordinate with superintendents and field engineers.
- Execute material takeoffs from construction drawings.
- Track and report installed quantities to Project Controls.
- Prepare and track material requisitions and monitor purchase orders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and fabrication issues through formal documentation.
- Ensure compliance with current drawings, codes, and specifications.
- Act as main contact for contractors on instrumentation scope.
- Complete quality documentation and inspection/test plans.
- Support system walk-downs, deficiency tracking, and close-out processes.
- Field construction experience with industry standards and codes.
- Background in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, mineral processing, or power construction.
- Leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to problem-solve under pressure.
- Familiarity with MS Office, Visio, Navisworks, Aconex, and related tools.
- Experience managing technical service subcontracts.
- LNG site experience, especially in the U.S. Gulf Coast.
- Understanding of work process procedures and automation systems.
- Bachelor's in Engineering + 3-5 years experience or
- 6-9 years industry experience in lieu of a degree.
