Division of Fortune 100 Company seeks to hire an ASU Assistant Plant Manager for their operation in Darlington South Carolina. Air Separation experience is a must. Salary listed does not include bonus and profit share. Relocation package available for qualified candidates!
1. High school diploma or GED required plus minimum two years of college, technical school, or relevant military or technical experience preferred
2. Work experience at least 5 years working in operations team of a continuous process plant, or in the industry gas industry.
3. Air Separation - An advanced understanding and hands-on experience of the operation and maintenance of cryogenic air separation plants and associated equipment and technologies is required.
4. Computer Programs- the ability to use the various software systems used at an UIGI air separation plant, including, but not limited to; MS Office suite. Note: Additional skills in standard automation software, control system programming, and human machine interface (HMI) a plus.
5. Judgment to recognize and interpret sophisticated instrumentation, and the validity and implications of instrumentation and control equipment; with the ability to make rapid decisions accordingly.
6. Instrumentation and Electrical - Candidate should understand electrical principals in practical situations involving the operation and repair of complex electrical devices typically found on air separation plants.
7. Mechanical aptitude - Candidate should possess good skills in mechanical system maintenance.
8. Maintenance Programs - Candidate must be familiar with implementation and ongoing review of maintenance programs and asset management tools, including scheduling and procurement of parts and services for routine operations and periodic maintenance activities.
9. Ability to employ moderate physical effort to handle light and medium weights and occasionally heavy tools and equipment. Work may occasionally occur in awkward physical positions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment necessary for repairing and replacing mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
- Ability to work independently to troubleshoot, diagnose & solve issues with process and plant equipment; and to develop and rapidly implement corrective actions.
- Ability to train other employees on plant operations, quality control procedures and the proper techniques of instrument calibration and maintenance
- Exposure to water treatment and the principles of industrial refrigeration systems.

- Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the ASU, ensuring that production goals and safety standards are consistently met.
- Coordinate the operations of air separation processes, including monitoring and optimizing plant performance.
- Supervise and manage plant staff to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operation of the facility.
- Support the Plant Manager in the execution of plant projects, including upgrades, equipment installations, and process optimization.
- Assist in project planning, budgeting, and tracking progress to ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing reports related to plant performance, maintenance, safety, and operational issues.
