responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the process improvement team to design and develop fixtures, tools, and systems that optimize production time, quality, and ergonomics.
- Support facility upgrades including improvements in lighting, safety railings, racking, and the integration of new equipment.
- Engage with shop floor employees to gather feedback and implement process enhancements effectively.
- Create and manage internal job orders for assigned improvement projects and fixture development.
- Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles; contribute ideas and solutions in collaboration with the team and leadership.
- Use ERP systems and conduct time studies to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in production workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.2-4 years of experience in process improvement within a manufacturing setting.
- 2-4 years of experience in drafting and 2D/3D modeling (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred).
- strong knowledge of advanced assembly methods, shop floor layout optimization, and lean principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing.
- Skilled in creating detailed drawings, dimensioning, view layouts, and parts lists.
- Understanding of concept design with a focus on manufacturability.
- Familiarity with reverse engineering and replication of failed components.
- Knowledge of material selection, hardware, and fasteners.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver timely solutions.
