A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Pontiac, IL area. This experienced quality engineer role is focused on analyzing internal scrap and rework data, leading 8D problem resolution, and improving product/process quality in a manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:
- Review and approve sampling methods and quality data recording tools.
- Supervise evaluation of production/testing/measurement equipment.
- Conduct quality control training sessions.
- Specialize in various quality control areas (e.g., process control, product evaluation, R&D, etc.).
- Direct personnel in measuring/testing product quality and reliability.
- Plan and oversee quality standards for processes, materials, and products.
- Create and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation standards using engineering knowledge.
- May lead the overall quality control program.
- Microsoft Office, strong problem-solving skills.
- Facilitation of 8D teams, strong communication.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- strong leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field.
- 5-10 years of experience in quality or manufacturing engineering.
