A Project Controls Planner is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Houston, TX area. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing engineering and procurement schedules for large-scale EPC projects, ensuring integration, progress tracking, and critical path management while coordinating across disciplines to support project milestones and performance goals.

responsibilities:

Focuses on Engineering and Procurement planning tasks.

Collects, verifies, and integrates scope of work from all project entities into the master schedule.

Ensures accurate representation of project scope in schedules.

Defines the conceptual scope for schedule studies.

Prepares and analyzes comparisons of scope and quantities across projects.

Conducts productivity analysis of construction operations.

Establishes project milestones and ensures activities support those milestones.

Coordinates timely collection of scope definition and related data.

Develops and maintains:

Engineering Progress and Performance Reporting (EPPR)

Procurement Valuation System (PVS)

Subcontract Valuation System (SCVS)

Updates engineering and procurement activities based on department input.

Recommends adjustments to durations or logic to maintain overall schedule timelines.

Evaluates work logic from different units to ensure alignment with the overall project schedule.

Reviews schedule durations and scope for reasonableness and completeness.

Supervises schedule resource loading and leveling.

Develops commodity release and installation curves.

Integrates manpower requirements per discipline with overall project needs.

Identifies and resolves schedule restraints and inter-discipline scheduling issues.

Issues required reports per company and project standards.

Monitors the critical path and schedule performance.

Conducts schedule analysis and identifies problem areas.

Proposes schedule improvement alternatives to the project team.



Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or

• Proficient in schedule development, control, and analysis for EPC projects.
