A Project Engineer is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Waverly, IA area. This role will lead capital projects from concept to completion in a manufacturing environment by managing engineering design, procurement, implementation, and closeout to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

responsibilities:
- Ensure safety and ethical behavior in all engineering activities.
- Promote clear communication, low-cost operations, and adherence to GMP, HACCP, OSHA.
- Drive continuous improvement and protection of proprietary technology.
- Validate long-term sustainability of projects.
- Review documentation and prepare approvals per Capital Investment Guidelines.
- Ensure assets are well-designed using new technologies and thorough reviews.
- Lead/support Value Engineering Analysis for optimized solutions.
- Ensure safe, maintainable installations with vertical start-up readiness.
- Clearly define scope and milestones when using external resources.
- Technical, managerial, and leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency in plant design, construction, equipment procurement, permitting, and CAPEX budgeting.
- Knowledge of hygienic/sanitary design, 3A standards, powder handling, food safety regulations.
- Familiar with TPM, financial analysis, NIMT tool.
- Software: MS Office, MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD (basic), Visio.
- Degree in Engineering Field (Mechanical/Process/Chemical/Electrical Engineering) plus
- A minimum of 1-3 years of significant experience and achievement in a technical field with a project engineering background.
