A Process Engineer is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Kennebunk, ME area. This position will lead risk assessments and validation activities to ensure compliant, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes through collaboration, documentation, and continuous improvement in a regulated environment.

responsibilities:
- Work with cross-functional teams (Quality, Operations, Engineering, Suppliers) to improve processes.
- Provide technical leadership and drive plant performance via improvement projects.
- Lead standardization of assigned processes and enforce regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, ISO 13485, QSR, GMP).
- Support controlled documentation efforts (development, revision, release).
- Lead experimental plans and write technical reports on findings.
- Manage changes to materials, processes, or equipment through formal change control.
- Support equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training for new product introductions.
- Serve as team member or leader on cross-functional projects.
- Leading PFMEA risk assessments and implementing findings.
- Drafting and executing IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols with statistical justification.
- Knowledge of engineering tools and methodologies: DOE, SPC, DMAIC, Data Analysis.
- strong command of MS Excel (including formulas and graphing).
- Experience in validation of custom manufacturing equipment based on product specs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.).
- 2+ years of experience in process engineering, quality, or technical roles in a manufacturing environment.
