A Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Richland, WA area. This role designs, develops, and documents HVAC systems and utilities for treatment and vitrification processes, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring compliance with codes, client requirements, and project standards.

responsibilities:
- Work as part of the HVAC team on systems supporting treatment and vitrification processes.
- Design and develop HVAC systems and support utilities.
- Prepare design documents: technical reports, calculations, V&I diagrams, and equipment data sheets.
- Create procurement documents: equipment specs, material requisitions, vendor proposal evaluations.
- Interface and coordinate with engineering disciplines, client, and specialty groups.
- Present designs and communicate with clients; address questions promptly.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support construction and project management with mechanical input.
- Check and review HVAC design documentation and mechanical engineering reports.
- Prepare conceptual designs, studies, and proposals.
- Solid experience in producing HVAC load calculations, pressure drop calculations, ductwork design, and equipment selection is required.
- Knowledge of ASME AG-1, ASHRAE, SMACNA standards, and experience with DOE Nuclear Cleaning Handbook and relevant DOE design guides.
- Solid experience in the use of MS Office applications, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
- Previous WTP Experience using company Procurement tools would be beneficial.
Level 1:
- Bachelor's degree + 5-8 years of experience or 10-15 years of relevant work.
- EIT certification required.
- PE license expected within 1 year.
- Bachelor's degree + 8-10 years of experience or 15-20 years of relevant work.
- PE license required.
