A Logistics and Inventory Coordinator is needed for a Swiss multinational manufacturing company for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nutrition sectors, in the Houston, TX area. This job ensures the efficient flow of materials between internal and external warehouses to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations through strategic planning, inventory management, and cross-functional communication.

responsibilities:
Logistics Coordination
- Ensure timely delivery of materials from the 3rd-party warehouse to the internal warehouse
- Coordinate daily shipments in alignment with production schedules
- Track and manage shipments; communicate with warehouse partners regarding delays or issues
- Quickly resolve logistical problems to prevent production delays
- Liaise with internal warehouse inventory team to monitor on-site stock levels and accuracy
- Collaborate with the scheduling team to align material flow with production schedules
- Review demand forecasts and place timely, accurate orders from the 3rd-party warehouse
- Maintain regular communication with 3rd-party warehouse regarding material availability
- Work closely with purchasing, planning, and production teams to ensure material needs are met
- Keep all relevant stakeholders informed of any inventory or logistics issues
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve logistics and inventory processes
- Recommend enhancements to increase material flow efficiency and inventory accuracy
- Develop strategies to minimize waste and reduce logistics/inventory-related costs
- Ensures uninterrupted manufacturing operations through effective logistics and inventory control
- Prevents costly production stoppages due to inventory mismanagement
- Supports business profitability by optimizing resource use, forecasting, and timely deliveries
- Directly contributes to operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and meeting production targets
- 3+ years' experience in supply chain/warehousing, preferably in Pharma/Biotech
- Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred
- CPIM certification preferred
- strong skills in MS Office (Excel and Word) and SAP
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Solid understanding of supply chain procedures and concepts
- Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset
- Proactive, hands-on, flexible, and highly analytical
- Proficient in data analysis and using reporting tools to monitor KPIs and inventory
