A Mechanical Construction and Commissioning Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization near Greensboro, NC to to support startup, commissioning, and oversight of complex mechanical systems within industrial and manufacturing environments. This role will play a key part in ensuring design integrity, system compliance, and seamless handover to end users while coordinating with construction contractors and equipment vendors.
The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in mechanical system design and 2+ years in construction management, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Familiarity with building codes, safety practices, and commissioning processes is required. Industrial or GMP manufacturing environment experience is highly preferred.

- Review submittals, shop drawings, design specs, and respond to contractor RFIs
- Oversee mechanical startups, commissioning activities, and system handover
- Conduct field inspections for code compliance, safety, and construction quality
- Coordinate factory testing, delivery, and installation of mechanical equipment
- Lead contractor oversight and ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones
- Support construction administration including outage planning, schedule coordination, and reporting
