Responsibilities
- Assist a litigation or commercial attorney with administrative and legal tasks.
- Conduct initial case assessments and legal research.
- Organize and maintain case files.
- Collect and organize information from various sources.
- Act as a liaison between clients and internal/external parties.
- Prepare monthly billing statements.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and planning abilities.
- Provide support to an attorney, including client coordination and administrative duties.
- Assist in screening potential clients.
- Draft engagement agreements for attorney and client review.
- Manage attorney's calendar and deadlines.
- Handle documentation, word processing, and proofreading.
- Maintain both physical and electronic records.
- Open new client files and conduct conflict of interest checks.
- Assist with preparation and filing of legal documents.
- Obtain necessary certificates and documents from state authorities.
- Support discovery process in disputes.
- Generate docket reports and monthly status updates for ongoing matters.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Collaboration and communication abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to manage multiple deadlines for various clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
