- The geomatics instrument operator uses a variety of land survey instruments to support a crew in their daily operations
- Assists in the completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief
- Responsible for the operation, checking and basic field adjustments of land survey equipment. E.g. tripods, tribrachs, levels, total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems
- Utilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations
- Read and interpret various types of maps and plans
- Complete neat and orderly field notes for land survey operations with supervision from Crew Chief
- Keeps Crew Chief informed of problems and progress
- Load and unload trucks with land survey equipment and supplies
- Clean and maintain land survey equipment, tools and vehicle
- Follow company safety procedures for land survey operations
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a valid, current driver’s license
- One year industry experience
- Knowledgeable in the principles and performance of basic types of surveys, survey computations, and field operations
- Ability to work continually outside in all types of weather conditions and terrain
- Ability to work out of town, in remote locations, for extended periods of time

Our client, a managed geospatial services company, is seeking a Survey Technician / Instrument Operator to join their team. This position is located in West Henrietta, NY and is a direct hire opportunity.
