We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Category Strategist with 5+ years of experience to join our team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and driving category strategy, conducting sourcing events, and managing procurement of indirect services in a dynamic and fast-paced financial services environment. As a key member of the Category Strategist team, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, leveraging your expertise in sourcing, analytics, and procurement to help streamline operations and support strategic decision-making. This role is Hybrid to those sitting local to Dallas, TX but also flexible to work remotely on a CST or EST schedule. Please see below and apply with your resume upon interest.

Responsibilities

• Conduct requirements gathering, market research, and spend analytics to support sourcing strategies.
• Lead sourcing events, negotiate contracts, and secure procurement of indirect items, predominantly services.
• Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies, including contract amendments, renewals, and risk management.
• Manage and support the procurement process, from RFX development to supplier selection and evaluation.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Senior Category Strategists and business owners, to understand and meet sourcing needs.
• Utilize procurement tools and templates, including competitive bidding, supplier scorecards, and spend analytics.
• Prepare and present findings to stakeholders and support the decision-making process with data-driven insights.
• Regularly use advanced Excel functions for data analytics and reporting.

Qualifications:

• BS Degree OR equivalent experience; Master’s/MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience; 10+ years preferred, especially in financial services, banking, or regulated environments.
• Background in financial services or banking.
• Expertise in procurement processes, budget cycles, cost-of-ownership analysis, lease/buy analyses, contract and risk management.
• Proven experience in sourcing and category management.
• Proficiency in sourcing/category management, spend analytics, project management, advanced Excel and analytical tools (e.g., OBIEE, Tableau)
