We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to manage and monitor our expenses. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payments, verifying invoices, and performing account reconciliations.

To succeed as an Accounts Payable Specialist, you should have an understanding of accounting best practices and experience in a similar position. An effective Accounts Payable Specialist will demonstrate accounting expertise that leads to improved expense control processes.



salary: $50,000 - $58,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data.
• Receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
• Comparing system reports to account balances and verifying entries for accuracy.
• Charging expenses to the appropriate accounts and cost centers, while controlling petty cash expenditures.
• Verifying vendor accounts, making payments to vendors, and resolving any discrepancies related to purchase orders, invoices, or payments.
• Issuing amendments to purchase orders and processing stop payments when necessary.
• Monitoring payroll expense claims, which include salary advances and overtime payments.
• Reconciling account transactions with the general ledger to ensure consistency.
• Maintaining accurate recordkeeping and preparing financial reports.
• Staying informed about regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
