Responsibilities
- Manages all employee benefits programs such as: health, retirement, FSA, VEBA life
insurance and voluntary benefits.
- Evaluates and compares existing organization benefits with those of other employers by
analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information.
- Makes recommendations for changes in plan design or new plans according to market
conditions or employee usage patterns.
- Acts as liaison with brokers, consultants, and vendors for the development and ongoing
operation of benefit plans.
- Prepares announcements, correspondence and conducts employee meetings during open
enrollment periods, new employee orientation and other times when plan changes occur.
- Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal laws. Reviews and analyzes
changes in laws pertaining to benefits and reports necessary or suggested changes to
management.
- Aids employees by investigating and reviewing problems with claims or insurance
related issues.
- Assists with training and development efforts, legal compliance activities, and drives
adherence to collective bargaining agreements and the Employee Handbook.
- Provides advice and counsel to managers, supervisors and employees regarding human resources
policies, procedures and employee benefits, including collective bargaining agreements and the
personnel rules.
- Manages the records retention procedure for HR Division.
- Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
