- Education-Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Georgia required and ability to be licensed in surrounding states.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering
- Possess knowledge of the various building types, roof systems, and concrete construction.
- Possess knowledge of applicable building codes and design standards (ex. IBC, ACI, ASTM, AISC, and ADA).
- Proficient with AutoCAD, structural packages (ex. RISA, Enercalc), and MS Office.
- Possess excellent technical writing skills for producing engineering reports and recommendations, design documents and specifications.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, organized, and excellent communication skills.
- Occasional travel required - Mostly local

Responsibilities
Under the limited direction of an Engineering Manager, the position is responsible and accountable for providing structural engineering and design support as well as project development and execution.
Specific duties include:
- Conducts general facility and site assessments- buildings, roofs, roadways, parking lots, and foundations.
- Performs structural inspections for potential damage and deterioration to buildings, mezzanines, storage racks, and hoist systems.
- Ability to perform load calculations to ensure structural soundness
- Prepares plans and design specifications for new construction, renovation, and facility improvement type projects.
- Choose appropriate materials to ensure durability and cost-effectiveness
- Manages outside contractors and conformance to plans and specifications.
- Manages various projects- budgets, schedule, and safety.
- Designs fall prevention/protection systems and permanent anchor points.
- Calculates design loads and capacities of existing structures.
