Randstad is seeking candidates with experience purchasing for the construction of residential homes. The client is a well established company with excellent benefits AND the position is a DIRECT HIRE.
You will need:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing in the construction industry.
- Good understanding of the residential construction process and home building.
- Proficiency in cost analysis and financial reporting.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
salary: $60,000 - $85,000 per year
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure timely procurement of materials and services required for construction projects.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions.
- Review purchase orders for accuracy and adherence to company policy and procedures.
- Perform cost analysis and set benchmarks to monitor system effectiveness.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify specifications, control costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Keep abreast of market trends and changes affecting both procurement and the construction industry.
- Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and delivery terms.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on purchasing activities and costs for senior management.
- Collaborate with the finance department to optimize financial reporting and forecasting related to purchasing.
