Responsibilities
- Formulizes required safety policies and procedures.
- Conducts accident investigations, oversees corrective actions, and implements preventive measures.
- Follows up on pending safety improvements.
- Monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
- Trains workers on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
- Manages Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
- Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Reduces worker compensation cost by coordinating safety inspections, performing accident & near miss investigations, and ensuring corrective action is taken.
- Ensures OSHA compliance and updates OSHA 300 log.
- Works with departmental heads to address safety issues as they arise.
- Holds Management Safety Meetings and bilingual Safety Committee Meetings at assigned locations on monthly basis.
- Performs area specific hazardous analysis.
- Chairs Monthly Safety Committee Meetings.
- Enforces all company rules in a fair and consistent manner.
- Travel to Colton facility 1x per month or as needed
