Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to meet IRS regulations, including cost basis and withholding requirements.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies across various processing systems to maintain compliance.
- Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintain cost basis records for Wealth Management customer accounts.
- Provide gain/loss reporting and support queries related to these operations.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with cross-organizational operations teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
- Contribute to the requirements and testing phases of strategic platform initiatives.
- Process Improvement:
- Analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements.
- Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in deliverables.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 0-2 years of relevant experience in financial operations, tax compliance, or a related area.
- Familiarity with cost basis reporting and IRS regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities
The US Tax Operations team handles all reporting obligations for the Firms Wealth Management and Institutional clients, and is responsible for ensuring compliance with the IRS regulations. The team is primarily located in Utah with additional coverage in New York and India. The Gain & Loss department maintains cost basis records and provides Gain/Loss reporting for assets held in MS Wealth Management customer accounts. The Tax teams work closely with cross-organizational operations teams, handle related queries, reconcile discrepancies between various processing systems, ensure accuracy of regulatory reporting (e.g. cost basis and withholding), and support requirements and testing of strategic platform initiatives.
