A GAAP, FASB, accounting pronouncement, Big 4/Regional Accounting Firm auditing Accounting Consultant who desires to join a global, highly respected company is being sought after for this year-long Technical Accounting Consultant role.  You will be an integral, key team player who will work closely with up to 20 Global BU Finance Leaders.  You are needed as their accounting advisor! Your objective is to ensure all accounting policies, procedures, and new pronouncements are implemented and executed correctly.  You will also be impactful in supporting and preparing the quarterly and annual financial statements along with paperwork for internal and external audits.  Three days will be onsite with Monday and Friday working from home.  This is an ideal role for the experienced accountant who enjoys reading, interpreting, and executing policies and procedures along with implementing change.  

salary: $55 - $65 per hour

Responsibilities

Overarching accountability:  Advise up to 20 global business units on complex, technical accounting inquiries and implementation of new accounting standards and pronouncements

• Develop and coordinate implementation and execution of new accounting policies and procedures across multiple global business units
• Advise, guide, and support the finance business unit leaders on all technical accounting inquiries
• Apply your advanced understanding of technical accounting standards to review and evaluate areas of improvement
• Identify and lead policy and process optimization and activities by communicating them with the finance experts and leaders to promote process change 
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
• Prepare materials for internal and external audit committees 
• Support and may lead high-profile accounting projects for acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures
• Be available onsite 3 days a week to collaborate with Senior Leadership and team members
