- 7+ years of payroll experience in a global organization with a large employee base
- Understanding of payroll functions and legislation, particularly for the US and Canada
- Proficiency in Excel (V-Lookups, Formulas) and experience with SAP payroll systems
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Experience in fast-paced, dynamic sectors such as tech or start-up environments
- Fluency in English
- Comfortable working with international teams and adapting to different time zones

Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly exempt payroll (180 employees) and weekly non-exempt payroll (60 employees)
- Independently calculate payroll, ensuring compliance with US and Canadian wage and tax laws
- Work with automated timesheet systems to extract data and process time records
- Maintain and update pay records, leave data, and related information
- Process new starters, terminations, and master file changes
- Handle payroll-related service tickets, investigating past issues through SharePoint and Jira to find solutions
- Communicate with ABB HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to resolve payroll issues and ensure accurate payroll delivery
- Prepare and provide payroll information for external authorities as needed
- Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when required
- Work closely with a global payroll team, adapting to different time zones and collaborating efficiently with overseas colleagues
- Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to current payroll processes
