Responsibilities
Overview: This role will collaborate closely with the external tax preparer, EY, to ensure accurate and timely preparation of fiduciary tax returns for all accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Review prior years’ tax returns for new trust accounts, identifying and addressing potential tax issues.
- Advise Trust team on income tax implications for fiduciary accounts where Tiedemann Trust Company serves as Trustee or Executor.
- Analyze income tax consequences of distributions and investments within fiduciary accounts.
- Collaborate with EY to complete fiduciary tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Facilitate timely quarterly and annual fiduciary tax payments.
- Track annual tax documents and refunds.
- Assist with 1099 forms and other tax-related matters.
- Conduct research on various tax issues.
- Coordinate with Client Service and Operations teams to obtain annual tax documents.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in accounting and/or finance preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the trust industry, focusing on income tax compliance.
- Experience in preparing individual tax returns and estimates.
- Preferred experience with fiduciary tax returns.
- Exposure to Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Clients is advantageous.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently on tasks and projects.
