Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert on ADA and related employment laws, proactively researching regulations and advising on claim management to minimize organizational exposure.
- Document all ADA cases in strict accordance with legal requirements, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Review and verify eligibility for federal, state, and company leave for ADA-covered absences, ensuring all communications align with leave policies and ADA regulations.
- Coordinate the interactive process among team members, facility leaders, and healthcare providers by reviewing clinical documentation and facilitating effective accommodation discussions.
- Negotiate accommodations based on provider recommendations, develop legally sound solutions for complex cases, and make informed decisions to approve, modify, or deny accommodations as appropriate.
- Liaise with Risk Management, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, vendor account managers, and HR teams (including HRIS and Shared Services) to address ADA intersections with workers' compensation and unauthorized absences.
- Participate in new system design and implementation projects, and support accurate ADA data setup during mergers and acquisitions.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA by protecting sensitive information and maintaining employee privacy.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local ADA and leave laws, updating standard operating procedures as needed
