A client of ours in the automotive manufacturing industry located in Frankfort, Kentucky is seeking a Buyer Planner to join their team.  This position is responsible for performing daily supply chain management duties.  The Buyer Planner will perform various analytical functions, which primarily involve ensuring a smooth material flow, responding to problem areas with proposed solutions, while guaranteeing quality standards are maintained.  This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package. 

salary: $65,000 - $67,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Ensure inventory levels are maintained at optimal levels while meeting production schedules.
• Manage MRP and ERP systems to forecast demand, guarantee material availability, and plan production schedules effectively.
• Assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, delivery timelines, and quality standards in accordance with company guidelines.
• Report on market trends and supplier performance risks to the Supervisor, aiming to prevent disruptions and identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain efficiencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and engineering, to ensure material specifications are met.
• Follow SCM policies and procedures to ensure alignment with company standards.
