As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing key accounting functions within our company, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), reconciliations, journal entries, and payroll. You will also be expected to learn and assist with invoicing and billing as part of your role. Your expertise in QuickBooks Online and previous experience in the construction industry will be crucial as you help streamline our accounting operations and support the growth of the business. Located in 32216  100% IN OFFICE  Must be in Jacksonville, FL

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:
  
  
  • Process vendor invoices and track payments to ensure timely and accurate recording.
  • Manage client invoices, monitor collections, and ensure AR aging reports are up to date.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between AP/AR and general ledger on a regular basis.
• Reconciliations:
  
  
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure that all financial records are accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
• Journal Entries:
  
  
  • Post journal entries for financial transactions, including accruals, adjustments, and other accounting entries as required.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Payroll Support:
  
  
  • Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for employees.
  • Ensure all payroll-related records are accurate and compliant with regulations.
• Invoicing & Billing:
  
  
  • Learn and assist with generating accurate invoices for clients.
  • Ensure that billing is timely and in line with contract terms.
• Financial Reporting & Documentation:
  
  
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Ensure proper filing of financial records and maintain organized documentation for auditing purposes.
