We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Controller to oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance. This role will manage month-end/year-end closes, financial statements, budgeting, and audits while leading a small accounting team. This is a contract to hire role - looking to bring someone in ASAP 

salary: $45 - $60 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (GAAP compliance).
• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Coordinate audits and tax filings.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial data.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 3-5 years at the controller level.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Excel.
• strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax laws.
• Leadership experience managing an accounting team.
