Responsibilities

As a Production Engineer Intern, you will work closely with an experienced production engineering team to support the troubleshooting and optimization of chemical purification processes running 24/7. Responsibilities include updating P&IDs, Work Instructions, and various safety documents to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. You will also interact with plant operators, maintenance technicians, and Controls Engineers to achieve plant objectives.
• Troubleshoot equipment, process, or quality abnormalities using knowledge in process chemistry, thermodynamics, and hydraulics.
• Develop best practices and innovative solutions to enhance production rates and output quality.
• Review and update process and operation documentation using Management of Change process.
• Participate in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) activities for production failures and safety incidents and interfaces with peers in their troubleshooting efforts.
• Work with Controls Engineers to modify control logic to sustain and optimize existing production systems.
• Design and specify process equipment for system upgrades and new capital projects.
