Responsibilities

Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
• Ensure timely submission of all tax filings and payments to avoid penalties.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance.

Tax Planning and Strategy

• Identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions, transactions, and investments.
• Assist in preparing forecasts and budgets related to tax obligations.

Tax Audits and Inquiries

• Manage tax audits, reviews, and examinations conducted by tax authorities.
• Respond to tax notices and inquiries promptly and accurately.
• Maintain proper documentation and records to support tax filings.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate representation in the general ledger.

Process Improvement

• Develop and maintain efficient tax processes and systems to improve accuracy and timeliness.
• Recommend and implement best practices in tax accounting and reporting.

Client/Stakeholder Communication (if applicable):

• Provide tax advisory services to clients or internal stakeholders.
• Explain complex tax concepts in an understandable manner to non-financial personnel.
