Responsibilities
- Execute, plan, and control programs through operations (manufacturing, test, quality, etc.) to ensure timely delivery of products to the customer.
- Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments.
- Report program status and schedule at meetings, and as required, to Senior Management, Program Manager, and Engineering.
- Perform complex transactions in the MRP system. Compiles and maintains MRP generated reports and Excel spreadsheets of Work In Process (WIP) status including location of material, shortages, open sales orders, material delivery dates and Can-Build status.
- Prepare purchase requisitions by calculating lead-time, floor scrap, minimum ordering level and set-up factors, to schedule parts required to support assembly schedules.
- Expedite and work with purchasing and planning to eliminate materials shortages and to meet delivery dates as well as long term goals.
- Analyze Bills of Materials (BOM’s) and drawings.
- Release kits to production with proper travelers, operation sheet, and applicable documentation.
- Follow processing of internal Manufacturing Orders (MO’s) to assure that items and assemblies will be completed on schedule.
- Process Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) so that WIP is at current revision.
- Process Discrepant Material Reports (DMR’s) to ensure replacement material is transferred to WIP or ordered, and to purge discrepant and effective material from production orders, kits, and stock.
