We are looking for a friendly and organized individual to join our Patient Accounts team as an Accounts Payable Clerk. In this role, you will play a key part in making sure our patients' billing and insurance claims are handled accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Clerk, Patient Accounts plays a crucial role in supporting the Patient Account Specialist and Hospital Medicare HMO Team by ensuring the smooth handling of administrative and clerical tasks related to patient accounts. This position is vital in maintaining accurate documentation, facilitating communication between departments, and assisting in claims processing to ensure timely and efficient resolution of patient accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail to appropriate departments.
- Scan, fax, and copy documents as needed to support administrative and claims processing tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of mailed and received documents for tracking and auditing purposes.
- Handle follow-up calls and voicemails to patients and insurance providers related to document requests and claim processing.
- Retrieve and send itemized bills for high-dollar accounts.
- Monitor and manage the IBRequests email inbox, ensuring timely responses to insurance inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality and security policies when handling sensitive documents.
- Document and escalate unresolved issues as necessary.
