Responsibilities
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities
expected by the Operations Manager. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to
change as the needs of the organization require.
• Coordinate and supervise production in accordance with established policies,
principles, and procedures.
• Manage all operations through the department’s supervisors.
• Conduct safety, quality, and production meetings per established requirements.
• Develop and execute plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
• Work with the Maintenance Department in development and execution of preventive
and predictive maintenance programs to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
• Maintain, enforce, and report metrics on all safety, production, and quality
policies/procedures.
• Actively support the maintenance of all ISO and OSHA requirements.
• Manage, track, and monitor department costs including working hours of machines
and employees.
• Manage, lead, train and evaluate all production team members per established
requirements.
• Promote, encourage, and support employee training and development.
• Promote a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous
improvement.
• Establish effective communication between all departments within the organization.
• Actively participate in the leadership team with the General Manager, Purchasing
Manager, and Sales Manager.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and codes of business ethics.
