Responsibilities
- Manages payroll processing in full every week, which includes:
- Entering hours for all employees, including union employees and office employees.
- Collecting and reviewing timecards for all employees.
- Generating weekly payroll reports for internal review.
- Tracking deductions (garnishments, loans, IRA, etc.) and vacation / sick time.
- Printing checks and submitting ACH payments for approval by upper management.
- Determining tax liability by pay date and submitting federal / state payroll tax deposits.
- Initiating and posting journal entries in payroll software.
- Building weekly payroll folders for auditors.
- Managing extra checks and bonuses as requested.
- Manages certified payroll processing in full, which includes:
- Printing, signing, and organizing certified payroll reports for all applicable jobs.
- Exporting reports from payroll software system into platforms like Elation Systems or LCPTracker to streamline the certified payroll process.
- Submitting reports to DIR (Department of Industrial Relations) weekly.
- Submitting certified payroll reports to appropriate contacts via email or platforms like Dropbox regularly.
- Reconciles tax payments for state / federal and manages e-filing at the end of each quarter.
- Manages all labor compliance requirements and documentation for public works jobs in a timely manner, including DAS 140 & 142 forms, fringe contribution payment verifications, affidavits, workforce statements, etc.
