Our client is a growing company that is looking for a dynamic professional to join its GL Accounting team. This individual will be responsible for timely, complete and accurate accounting records for multiple entity locations. The GL Accountant is a critical position who will interact with various departments and ultimately help support the company’s financial statement close process. This position is a full time, exempt position based in Jacksonville, Florida. MUST BE LOCATED IN JAX, FL  MUST HAVE AN ACCOUNTING DEGREE

salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

 

• Prepare, calculate, and enter monthly journal entries into the accounting system
• Responsible for accounting for multiple entities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Coordinate month-end process with various operations managers, Accounts Payable and Revenue teams
• Analyze monthly financial performance against budget and prepare variance explanations
• Prepare ad hoc management reports as needed for research and explanation purposes
• Research, identify and correct unusual or incorrect accounting entries
• Prepare schedules and sample selections for audit requests
• Perform other job-related duties as directed
   

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred
• Must have a strong foundation of accounting knowledge and be able to consistently apply GAAP
• Must possess flexibility with work assignments and be able to multi-task
• Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and organized
• Must maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
• Friendly and proven ability to work cross-functionally
• Must have advanced computer and Excel skills
