Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the labor union.
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, specifically within the insurance sector.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Develop, implement, and enforce internal controls and accounting procedures to meet compliance standards.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and understanding of accounting processes.
- Provide financial guidance to leadership on matters related to accounting compliance and insurance-related regulations.
- Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all required reports and documentation.
- Accounting Degree or something similar required
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong understanding of compliance in insurance accounting.
- Experience working with insurance-related financial regulations is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
