Responsibilities
As the Senior Operations Manager you are expected to oversee a wide range of responsibilities to ensure that the warehouse operates efficiently and effectively.
- Lead day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products.
- Oversee the optimization of warehouse workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage and mentor a team of warehouse supervisors, leads, and staff to ensure high productivity and engagement.
- Coordinate staffing levels based on demand, ensuring that proper shifts are in place for peak seasons.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and minimize waste (lean management, 5S principles, etc.).
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., IT, Maintenance, Supply Chain) to integrate new technologies and processes effectively.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring stock levels are maintained without overstocking.
- Manage the budget and analyze operational costs and take corrective action when necessary to meet financial targets.
- Promote a safety-first culture and ensure warehouse is compliant with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Report regularly to the Director of Operations on performance metrics, challenges, and improvement plans.
- Anticipate and mitigate potential disruptions in supply chain or operations (e.g., labor shortages, inventory shortages).
- Develop and implement contingency plans for high-risk scenarios, ensuring minimal disruptions.
