Responsibilities
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Collect, verify, and process credentialing documents and applications for healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing records in internal databases and systems.
- Perform regular audits of credentialing data to ensure completeness, compliance, and accuracy.
- Conduct primary source verifications of licenses, certifications, education, and other credentials.
- Communicate regularly with providers, payers, licensing boards, and other third parties to obtain necessary information and resolve issues.
- Monitor and track credentialing and re-credentialing deadlines to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare and submit credentialing packets to payers and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Human Resources, Compliance, Provider Relations) to support credentialing-related initiatives.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of credentialing policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Generate reports on credentialing status, expirations, and compliance metrics.
- Proactively follow up on outstanding documentation and escalate delays or discrepancies as needed.
