Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Register patients by collecting and verifying demographic, insurance, and financial information.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining prior authorizations when required.
- Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances in accordance with financial policies.
- Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate with medical providers, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Assist patients with questions regarding their accounts, insurance coverage, and billing concerns.
- Process incoming calls, providing information and directing inquiries to the appropriate department.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the front office operations.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office, hospital, or healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and patient registration procedures.
- strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.\
