Responsibilities
- Investigates criminal cases ranging from simple to complex in nature
- Conducts a variety of complex investigations, including AML, Sanctions/ABAC and Financial Crime
- Interprets guidelines, standards, policies, and results of analysis to inform decision making at senior levels
- Assesses, prioritizes, and investigates assigned cases ensuring proper protocols are in place and effectively applied.
- Applies sound methodologies to collect, preserve, and analyze evidence while staying current on global emerging risks and technology threats
- Conducts internal and external searches; supports the development/delivery of presentations & communications to management or broader audience.
- Conducts investigations in a professional and timely manner. Monitors service, productivity and assesses efficiency levels within own function and implements continuous process/performance improvements where opportunities exist
- Analyze transaction patterns and assess risk factors to determine suspicious activity.
- Prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with detailed case findings.
- Collaborate with internal partners, including Legal, HR, and Compliance, to escalate cases as needed.
- Apply knowledge of banking products, financial crime trends, and investigative techniques to support risk mitigation efforts.
- Use Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and financial data systems to analyze case information
