Job Summary: The Buyer Planner is responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and aligning procurement with production schedules. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Using MRP, maintain inventory of finished products and components by issuing work orders and purchase orders
- Ensure consistent production schedules to maintain target inventory levels
- Issue purchase orders to vendors
- Maintain close working relationships with existing vendors
- Identify and develop alternative suppliers for key items
- Conduct price and contract negotiations, maximizing purchasing flexibility and cost savings for the company
- Monitor market trends and supply chain risks, taking timely action to ensure uninterrupted supply
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of production planning and/or purchasing experience
- strong knowledge of MRP
- strong negotiation skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Teamwork-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and think out of the box when necessary
- Previous experience in an electromechanical assembly facility and/or machine shop helpful
- Knowledge of Sage 100 ERP (PLUS)
