Responsibilities
As a Unclaimed Property Claims Specialist, job duties include:
- Professionally communicate complex information to claimants and property holders to determine ownership of unclaimed property.
- Conduct initial and follow-up interviews with claimants, utilizing deductive reasoning and intuitive thought to gather essential ownership information.
- Independently gather and analyze information from a wide range of sources to validate claims of ownership.
- Critically review various legal and financial documents, including notarized affidavits, powers of attorney, wills, trusts, contracts, court documents, corporate resolutions, and minutes to assess their relevance to ownership claims.
- Research records and reports to efficiently locate unclaimed properties and confirm ownership status.
- 1 + yrs of experience working as a Unclaimed Property Claims Specialist or prior experience in claims processing, medical billing or government claims.
- Familiarity with investigative work and document review is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information and interact with claimants professionally.
- Ability to manage a high volume of claims within established deadlines and quality standards.
