The Senior Accountant will join the corporate Finance and Accounting team and be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, primarily focusing on project accounting and project/proces controls, with exposure to personnel across the organization and various processes that support the operations. Position will be in Hanover, MD, hybrid, 2 days in office.

Responsibilities

• Project accounting
  • Responsible for accounting activities for designated projects including understanding of job cost data capture, billings, and sales agreements/contracts
  • Work with project management to ensure costs are recorded in the correct week and revenue is recognized in accordance with IFRS15
  • Work with project management to ensure financial project accounting is accurate, compare monthly project forecasts and investigate variances to budget
  • Participate in ad hoc projects analysis as necessary
  • Occasional travel
• Regional accounting
  • Ensure financial results are in accordance with IFRS and internal policies and procedures
  • Analyze and investigate variances to budget and to prior month of indirect job costs, shop costs, equipment costs, and general and administrative costs
  • Prepare accounting period-end entries and maintain accounting records in accordance with company policies and internal controls, including relevant reconciliations
  • Assist with the corporate monthly close process
  • Provide support and justification for audit requests
  • Other ad hoc inquiries as they arise
• Ability to prioritize tasks in an ever-changing environment and successfully meet deadlines
• Excel skills including experience with formulas (VLOOKUP) and pivot tables
• Experience with IFRS, application of accounting policies and account reconciliations
• Three to five years related experience in accounting, construction preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
