Responsibilities
- Manage and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 700 employees across 6 multi-state locations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee all payroll functions including employee time tracking, wage calculations, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll taxes, quarterly filings, and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s).
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments on compensation changes, benefits deductions, and GL reconciliations.
- Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related audits and inquiries from employees, vendors, and government agencies.
- Implement and continuously improve payroll procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Stay current with evolving wage laws and payroll compliance requirements, ensuring internal policies reflect up-to-date standards.
- Lead payroll onboarding and offboarding processes, providing training to new hires and department heads on payroll procedures.
- Support multi-state payroll processing including union and non-union employee classifications.
