A client of ours in the automotive manufacturing industry located in Frankfort, Kentucky is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planner/Scheduler to join their team. This position is critical in ensuring production efficiency through effective planning, scheduling, purchasing and coordination of raw materials and resources. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing operations, a solid understanding of supply chain principles, and knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental standards.  This position is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package. 

salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer requirements, optimize resource utilization, and minimize downtime.
  
  
• Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  
  
• Track production progress, identify potential bottlenecks or delays, and adjust schedules accordingly to meet delivery targets.
  
  
• Communicate schedule changes and updates effectively across departments including production, quality, and engineering.
  
  
• Analyze demand forecasts and inventory levels to support Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing principles.
  
  
• Assist in leading physical inventories and reconciliations for manufactured parts and raw materials. 
  
  
• Responsible for manufacturing inventory cycle counting activities.
  
  
• Collaborate with suppliers and customers to ensure accurate lead times and delivery schedules.
  
  
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling accuracy and operational efficiency.
  
  
• Maintain accurate records and generate reports related to production scheduling, material availability, and capacity planning.
  
  
• Ensure all planning and scheduling activities comply with ISO 14001 environmental management standards.
  
  
• Participate in audits and support documentation and reporting related to ISO 14001 compliance.
