Responsibilities
- Reviews purchase requisitions and coordinates with vendors to obtain information on pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Determines appropriate procurement methods, including direct purchases or competitive bidding.
- Prepares and issues purchase orders and bid requests.
- Evaluates bid proposals and negotiates contracts within established budgetary limits and authority.
- Maintains detailed procurement records, including purchases, costs, delivery timelines, product quality, performance metrics, and inventory levels.
- Collaborates with quality control, inspection personnel, end users, and vendors to resolve issues with defective or unacceptable goods or services and implements corrective actions.
- Reviews and approves invoices for payment.
- Expedites and tracks delivery of goods to ensure timely receipt by end users.
- Maintains and updates MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for both office and foreman’s stand.
- Manages Leggett stock, oversees raw material orders, and releases shop orders to the production floor as needed.
- Performs all responsibilities in compliance with applicable quality system procedures.
