Responsibilities
- Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.) to perform machining operations according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and job orders.
- Programming: Interpret technical drawings and program machines using CAM software or manual coding (G-code) to achieve precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to tooling, programming, or machine malfunctions to maintain production efficiency and quality.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines to ensure they operate effectively and safely.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, adjustments made, and parts produced, adhering to documentation standards.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members, including engineers and supervisors, to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste.
