Responsibilities
Issues replacement parts to mechanics; assists mechanics in choice of parts.
Assembles and fills orders as requested. Issues parts to open computer work orders as parts are
distributed to mechanics.
Complies with all regulations regarding the handling of hazardous materials. Obtains Material Safety
Data Sheets as required from vendors.
Maintains a clean and orderly parts room.
Orders special (non-stock) parts for repair orders, following order policies and procedures.
Monitors re-order levels and replenish inventory in order to maintain proper inventory levels.
Takes inventory of parts and equipment and maintains inventory records.
Completes Cycle Counts in a timely manner.
Adds parts to inventory with all associated information. Examples include Min, Max, Associated Asset,
default supplier etc.
Updates work orders as to when the parts will arrive.
Responsible for the parts on all work orders that require parts research or are waiting for parts to come
in.
Works with techs to formulate adequate part descriptions, so that parts are more easily identifiable in
the CMMS system.
Tracks all open PO’s and knows when parts will arrive.
Updates work orders, PO’s in the CMMS system and the Procurement system when part or contractor
information becomes available.
Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
