Responsibilities
Position Overview:
The Director of Facilities and Maintenance is responsible for the upkeep of the building, mechanical equipment, and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and productive environment for employees and visitors. This role involves overseeing custodial and maintenance staff and coordinating various maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the orderly opening and closing of the building.
- Manage and Direct Maintenance, Custodial, and Grounds Keeping departments.
- Provide a safe and comfortable environment for all building occupants.
- Hiring, training, and managing custodial and maintenance staff.
- Regularly inspect all areas to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Direct knowledge of repairs in areas such as air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and roofing.
- Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure surrounding public areas are well-maintained.
- Control costs by preparing specifications and bid contracts effectively.
- Implement cost-saving measures through repairs and efficient use of materials.
- Budgeting for the facilities department.
- Follow the policies and procedures of the organization.
- Attend quarterly all-staff meetings and perform other related duties as required.
